The group promotes handloom weaves sarees and Indian dress to support our handloom weavers.
Founder of the PPS group,Rekha kumar, an educationist and social worker stressed on wearing Indian cotton dresses like sarees instead of western synthetic attire. She said ladies look more graceful and elegant in our silk and cotton traditional dresses which are world famous. She welcomed all the new members with Potted plants!
Among the special guests Mrs Sunita Singh , MD Dayal group who is a social worker stressed upon helping the underprivileged children.
Archana Srivastava Alexsander, an educationist who emphasised on Indian culture and heritage.
They organised many activities like, Lok geet, Kajri singing, dancing, poetry recitation and many games based on sawan.
Among the winners, Jaya Srivastava won the title of Sawan Queen, Taruna Srivastava and Gita Srivastava were winners in games,solo dance winners were, Alka Tripathi, Amita Seth and Shubhi kapoor. In singing winners were Anju Rastogi, Gita Srivastava , Rupali Patel, Rekha Kumar, Jaya Srivastava . Poetry recitation winner was Sadhna sharma Group dance winners were Namrata Sahai, Anju Rastogi, Poonam Mishra and Jaya Srivastava.
Brij kumari singh, Rupali Patel, Sadhna Kohli, Dr Alka Jain, Meenu Srivastava were in the core team. There were nearing 30 ladies from different walks of life who attended the event.
